Clarcona Horse Park

We left Lake Louisa State Park at their check-out time of 1 pm so that we would get to Clarcona Horse Park a little after their check-in time of 2 pm for a very short, two-night stay.

We were SUPPOSED to be at Hillsborough River State Park in Tampa for 14 nights so we could be closer to my brother’s home and have some time to visit with him and his family over a two-week period. However, Hurricanes Helene and Milton caused so much damage to the campground that we had our reservations cancelled. Cindy scrambled and went through a lot of effort trying to find us another place to stay for those 14 nights, which is VERY hard to do in Florida during the winter months. She finally found out that we could return to Clarcona for a two-night stay (because it was a weekend, strangely enough) and then was able to find another nearby County Park for our remaining 12-nights we needed to fill.

She is the best!

So we are back in Clarcona for two-nights at site 7 with water and electric and back to stretching our water line under Nomad to get to the water outlet. But we are thankful to have a place at all, so no complaints.

Visiting Friends

After we got Nomad set up, we showered and drove to International Drive to meet Kirk, Laura and Laura’s mom Royda for dinner at BJ’s Restaurant. Royda had flown into Orlando on New Year’s Eve from Michigan to spend some time with Kirk and Laura here in Orlando. We hadn’t seen her since last year, so we were looking forward to getting a chance to visit and catch up.

We had a great visit, good meal and were happy to spend time with our friends. If things work out the way we hope we’ll get to visit Royda at her home in Michigan when we travel through that state for the first time this August. Kirk and Laura may also come up from Florida during that time so that will be a lot of fun seeing some sites with them in their home state.

Saturday we did nothing but rest and walk Bella. Sunday we packed up and left Clarcona Horse Park for our next stop.
