Plymouth Park Campground in Plymouth, Washington August 30 – September 5, 2024

We left the Tolt-MacDonald Campground and drove 220 miles southwest to Plymouth Park Campground in Plymouth, Washington.

We were here 9 weeks before this and it’s STILL the Kingdom of the Spiders, but otherwise an ok place to stay. This stay is only for one week instead of two and we’re just spending the time resting and relaxing after a wonderful two weeks with our two youngest grandchildren and their parents.

One night we watched the first episode of “KAOS” on Netflix. I didn’t think it was all that great but Cindy wanted to watch at least one more episode, so we’ll see.

Not really much to write about this stay, so no photos except for the route map. And the short “Giant Grasshopper” video. The first clip is the view from my window and the second clip is the view from Cindy’s window of the same grasshopper trying to look inside, lol.

We left Plymouth on Thursday, September 5th at 10:30 am and drove to a Cracker Barrel in Wampa, Idaho for a one-night stay. We arrived around 4:30 pm and had dinner in the Cracker Barrel. However, the temperatures were in the 80’s and of course we had no power in the Cracker Barrel parking lot. So we plugged our tower fan into our RockPal portable power battery and set up one of our other fans with its plug-in battery. Those battery-powered fans come in handy when we have no power and can’t run the generator.

With those fans set up Bella was able to stay cool while Cindy and I walked across the parking lot to spend the hot part of the afternoon inside the Panera Bread. We sipped cold drinks and used their free wi-fi to take care of some online things, then bought some bagels to go before returning to Nomad.

We don’t usually pay a lot of attention to the air quality index during our travels, but there was such a wild upward swing from the 26-36 while we were at Plymouth to the 161 during our drive that we couldn’t help but notice it. Visibility was very low as the haze obscured the outline of the mountains in the distance. They looked like a faded watercolor painting.
