Thursday morning, July 17th, we left Peaceful Pines RV Park at 8:45 am for a 5-hour drive to Bearmouth Chalet RV Park in Clinton, Montana for a two-night stay. It was a straight shot east on I-90.
We almost immediately hit a traffic incident just east of Spokane. Police cars suddenly started blocking the interstate, but we were the last ones through before they completely halted traffic behind us. It took us about 20 minutes to travel a mile, so we could have walked that fast. There were lots and lots of law enforcement vehicles by the time we arrived and passed the incident location, but no accident vehicles or rescue equipment, so we weren’t sure if nothing happened or something really bad had already been cleared.
We arrived at Bearmouth Chalet RV Park around 2:30 pm Mountain Time. The nice lady who runs the place gave us a choice of which site we wanted. The site is a gravel pad but very level with water and electric hookups. The park is on the beautiful Clark Fork River.
We got set up and since it’s a two-nighter we opened the living room/dining room slide-out. Then Cindy grabbed a quick nap while I sat with my left leg elevated and an ice pack on my knee. It’s getting pretty swollen and hurts like…heck.
During dinner we watched The Daily Show and saw the grossest commercial ever…mites in your eyelashes!
After dinner we watched the first two episodes of the new season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Then walked Bella around part of the camground.
Friday morning we walked Bella around the part of the campground we didn’t get to on Thursday and relaxed the rest of the day (leg elevated and iced) for our drive on Saturday.
