On October 31, 2023 we left R. Shaefer Heard Campground and drove about 3 hours south to Bainbridge, Georgia where we would be spending 7 nights at the Eastbank Campground. Last year around this time we stayed at the “sister” campground on the Florida side of the lake and so this year we thought we would try the Georgia side.
It was a very nice campground with gorgeous views as you can see from some of the photos. Sunsets on the lake were just breathtaking and we were outside around the campfire almost every evening so we could soak them in.
Something new we saw on this stay was a bald eagle trying to snag a baby duckling from a paddling of ducks not too far out from the shore of the lake near our site. You can see a video of the attempted abduction that Cindy shot on her phone while we watched in awe.
There was not much to this stay other than walking Bella and hiking around the campground. We were taking it easy because we knew that once we get to Orlando our schedules will be hectic with family visits (fun part), medical appointments, business meetings, etc. (not so fun parts). So we were happy to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet, as well as the beauty of nature, during our stay at Eastbank Campground in Bainbridge, GA. I’m pretty sure we’ll be back to visit here again.
